Drawings of and notes on a variety of freshwater invertebrate groups can be found on the "wetlands survey" page.
There are a number of keys to assist with macroinvertebrate identification and details for some of these can be accessed from the ausrivas site (https://ausrivas.canberra.edu.au/). A useful book is A Guide to Wetland Invertebrates of Southwestern Australia by Jenny Davis and Faye Christidis which also provides some information about the different types of macroinvertebrates. Ribbons of Blue provides further information including advice on how to collect samples.
