Sisters Wetland group view

A relatively broad low-lying area of internal drainage within 20 kilometres of the lower Kalgan River. There are a number of small to medium sized lakes and swamps, along with areas subject to inundation. Most of the surrounding area is cleared, but most of the wetlands are located within remnant bushland or nature reserve.

The wetland includes areas of national significance. It is characterised by freshwater conditions, extensive sedgeland habitat, moderate bird numbers and some breeding. White Lake differs from the rest of the wetland; it has the same habitat characteristics, but has heavy waterbird usage, although breeding is low.
