Gairdner River site GAI03

Calyerup Creek: the sampling site was in Calyerup Creek, accessed along firebreaks from the South Coast Highway. This site consisted of a series of pools perched on the large granite rock area.

GAI03 Above the main pool were two more pools. The uppermost pool had a slightly higher salinity,14.2 ppt, than the main pool. 17th October 2006

GAI03 This picture looks down onto the upper pool immediately above the main pool. Again, the salinity (13.9 ppt.) was slightly higher than the main pool. 17th October 2006

GAI03 The main pool was overshadowed on one edge with Melaleuca sp. The salinity of this pool was 10 ppt. 17th October 2006

GAI03 Below the granite rocks was another pool sitting on silt sediments and well shaded with Melaleuca sp. Surrounding this pool were thick stands of Baumea articulata indicating fresher water. The salinity was down to 7.8 ppt. 17th October 2006
